Don’t crucify the unvaccinated

THE EDITOR, Madam:

Numerous companies are now requiring their employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19, which may then lead to dismissal if he or she cannot afford the frequent expenses for testing if the person refuses to be inoculated. This certainly affects the 70 per cent of our population that falls into that category (according to a recent poll).

I believe the majority of our citizens do not hold an anti-vaccine mentality, instead, they are just not comfortable with the science behind the COVID-19 vaccine; they don’t have enough evidence about the vaccine’s efficacy. The dilemma for most persons is, ‘why should I volunteer for a possible blood clot?’

People need to understand that in making the decision to take the jab, quite a few persons find it stressful and life-threatening.

We must understand how deep and critical it is to respect and have regard for persons’ wishes as it pertains to their body; their basic and fundamental rights to exist and have choices.

Do not allow our workers to be forced out of a job because they are yet to accept and understand why they should give up their body to this vaccine that they have concerns about.
