Where is God?

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I am writing with reference to the letter published in The Gleaner, titled ‘Who is God?’ I find this to be a very important question that I would love to further talk about.

First, I would like to ask, how did my African ancestors learn about the religion Christianity that introduced the word God to them? Also, why is it our ancestors knew nothing about the existence of such God before it was introduced into their vocabulary?

We were taught by pastors, when growing up and attending churches every Sunday, that we must pray to God or his Son, Jesus, for whatever we need. Yet, we notice whenever the church we attend needed some financial help it seemed like it’s the collection plates or the tithes and offerings they would pass around. Why don’t they pray to God or his Son for such assistance, as they always teach us?

They also taught us lessons about Jesus, that He was already living in heaven and was a grown man before he was sent to Earth by his father God, to die for the sins of Adam’s so-called falling race.

What were the procedures God used in order to send a grown man to Earth to be placed in the womb of so-called Mary, His mother? Also, since Jesus was sent to die for our sins, why is it we have to repent of our sins again to prevent us from not going to so-called hell when we die?

Last but not the least, does God see all the corruption taking place on the Earth today? If yes, then what is he doing about stopping it? Or is it the people have to get themselves mobilised to rid our Earth of all the wrongs that are taking place as we speak?
