Lawmakers should debate IC issue in parliament

THE EDITOR, Madam:
I am writing this letter with reference to the article, ‘Holness: Stop ‘cass cass,’ which was published in The Gleaner on June 14.
I would like to commend Prime Minster Andrew Holness for taking a stand with regard to the issues that parliamentarians have with the Integrity Commission Act.
There are always room for update, review and amendments in any act or law. Therefore, and I quote from The Gleaner article, referring to the prime minister’s statement, “He argued that lawmakers should use the parliamentary platform to express their dissatisfaction and defend ‘our good name and character.”’
I hope the lawmakers will use the parliamentary platform to express their concerns and not vent in public.
