No more importation of batteries for now ...

THE EDITOR, Madam:Jamaica is importing more and more batteries. But what will happen to the ones which have already been exhausted – disposal in a landfill? Batteries contain toxic, heavy metals which (have the potential to/will) destroy everything on the island! I am suggesting that not one more battery be allowed on Jamaican soil until a recycling programme is up and running.
