Jamaican accountant-turned-boutique owner Marsha Fashina got her start in fashion crunching numbers for top magazines in New York, but fell in love with the creative process behind the scenes. Although she was on the money side of the business, she was captivated by the bold colours, patterns, trends, and even the models rocking the runway. So she transitioned to fashion full-time, starting with a virtual store and occasional pop-up shop. Two years in, her boutique, House of M, put down roots, and now stocks a variety of looks and fashion essentials, from extra small to three-extra large sizes. Fashina shared with Something Extra her five style essentials: a blazer, a pair of high-waist palazzo pants, a button-down cotton shirt, a black dress and jumpsuits.
