Something Extra | Friday
Reggae Sumfest is on in earnest. On Tuesday, under the influence of DJs Smoke, Theron, and Courtney, a combination of locals and tourists formed a sea of white at Pier 1 in Montego Bay, kickstarting the second night of the week-long festival. Creating a musical frenzy that had patrons literally eating out of their hands, the trio electrified the the seaside venue, catapulting a promise of more to come, which it did. On Wednesday, a cannabis lounge brought high intensity to the Reggae Sumfest Blitz, the all-black party held on Wednesday night. In fact, the 2727 venue that has ‘lit’ up (no pun intended) the Jimmy Cliff Boulevard, was a welcome addition to the pre-parties that signal the city’s readiness for the world’s most exciting reggae festival. Something Extra brings the highlights.
