Political appointees resign as JLP takes hold of government
Maxine Henry Wilson has resigned as chairman of the tourism product development company (TPDCO) as the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) takes hold of government.
Henry Wilson who made the announcement today at a Gleaner editor's forum, says all the current board members of TPDCO have also resigned making way for a new board which will be appointed by the JLP administration.
Meanwhile Reverend Garnett Roper told The Gleaner that he submitted his letter of resignation as Chairman of the Jamaica Urban Transit Board (JUTC) earlier this week.
Roper disclosed that the present board members of the JUTC have also resigned.
The announcements by Roper and Henry Wilson come just a day after Percival LaTouche announced his resignation from the board of the National Housing Trust.
Under the Westminster system of government, it is usual for political appointees to resign when a new government takes office.
