UPDATE: Health authority confirms Justice Ministry was closed because of air quality issues
Chief public health inspector at the Kingston and St Andrew health Department, Paul Ximines has confirmed that the Justice Ministry's offices in St Andrew were closed because of air quality control issues.
Yesterday, the Justice Ministry's staff on the 10th and 11th floors of the NCB South Towers in St Andrew were told by Public Health Authorities to leave the building as their floors were ordered closed.
Ximines says within the past two weeks, the health department received complaints of an unbearable odour which previously caused the staff of the Justice ministry to evacuate the building on
Ximines says the Michael Lee Chin-owned AIC Group which operates the NCB South towers has a maximum of thirty days to address the issues.
The Justice Ministry has been relocated to 61 Constant Spring Road.
The ministry has issued a release saying as a result of the move, its regular services will be scaled down from March 9-16 from 9 a.m to noon and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
