St Thomas police tight-lipped about major operation

The Police in St Thomas are tight-lipped about a major police-military operation in the parish which started last night and continued Tuesday.

Members of the Jamaica Defence Force and the Jamaica Constabulary Force have been patrolling communities in the parish by air and by land.

Concerned residents have expressed alarm at the heightened presence of the security forces in their communities.

Contacted this afternoon, head of the St. Thomas Police, Superintendent Beau Rigabie, declined to comment.

Superintendent Rigabie said he could not make a public comment at this time.

It is reported that the security forces are seeking wanted men in St. Thomas and that there have been shoot outs.

It’s further reported that one of the incidents involved a major player who has been on the police’s radar for years.
