146 people killed in road crashes since the start of the year

The latest statistics from the Road Safety Unit in the Transport are showing an increase in road traffic deaths.
The unit is reporting that up to Monday, 146 people were killed in road crashes, eight more than the number of deaths recorded over the similar period in 2015.
Meanwhile, there has also been an increase in the number of children killed in road crashes.
Up to Monday, 11 deaths were recorded two more than the nine recorded during the corresponding period in 2015.

47 - motorcyclists
32 - passengers
25 - pedestrians
21 - Motor vehicle drivers
13 - Pedal cyclists
05 - Pillions
