Phillips touts PNP's management of the economy

The opposition spokesman on finance says the previous People’s National Party administration put the country on the right financial footing and those gains should not be squandered by the current government.
Phillips touted the financial achievements of the previous administration.
He cited a reduction in inflation, interest rates, improved unemployment and a healthy Net International Reserve.
The former finance minister also pointed out that the previous administration increased businesses activity and passed all performance tests under the International Monetary Fund tests.
He further charged that the PNP government, through major growth projects, has laid the foundation for further economic growth.
Phillips says Jamaicans must hold the Andrew Holness-led government accountable for continued economic growth.
