Ferguson talks tough on highway project
The St Thomas Eastern Member of Parliament, Dr Fenton Ferguson appears to have backtracked on his earlier position about the changes to the South Coast Highway plan.
At a press conference at the Office of the Prime Minister to announce the changes last week, Dr Ferguson said he had got the clarity he needed and that he was satisfied a highway project was on.
Ferguson said his only issue was the matter of the realignment which had not been detailed.

However, last night, Ferguson, declared that he and other members of the parish are prepared to do battle with the government over the South Coast Highway project.
Ferguson said residents were promised a highway and they will not settle for the newly proposed changes.
A town hall meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow with stakeholders in St Thomas and members of the National Works Agency (NWA).
The NWA is expected to outline the plans the proposed road works.
