North-South highway traffic changes: Unity Valley and Treadways vicinity
The operator of the North-South leg of Highway 2000 says traffic changes are to be made to a section of the highway to facilitate remedial work arising from a landslide in May.
Days of heavy rains triggered a landslide which caused the collapse of a retaining wall along the section of the highway in the vicinity of Unity Valley and Treadways in St Catherine.
The road was closed for a few days to allow for repair works.
In a notice to the public, the highway’s operator says it will be undertaking further remedial works in the vicinity of kilometre 32 and 33 along the road.
The operators say beginning Friday vehicles travelling from Unity Valley to Linstead will be diverted into the opposite lane.
They say road signage will also be posted along the road.
The operators say the changes will remain until the works are completed.
