Two shot, killed in alleged shoot-out with police

Two men were shot and killed along the Spanish Town bypass in St Catherine by the police in an alleged shoot-out this morning.
The police say they also recovered an illegal gun.
One of those killed has been identified as 21-year-old Sheldon Gayle of Ellerslie Pen, Spanish Town, St Catherine.
It is reported that around 6 o’ clock this morning a police team was on patrol in the vicinity of the Spanish Town Examination Depot when they saw two men acting in a manner that arouse their suspicion.
A shootout reportedly ensued and the two men were shot.
They were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The Independent Commission of Investigations has since launched a probe into the shooting.
