Police investigating D'Angel's father's death

Clive Downer, father of dancehall artiste D'Angel died at hospital today from injuries he sustained after being hit by a motor vehicle yesterday.

The accident reportedly happened on the Old Harbour Main Road in St Catherine around 9:00 p.m.

Downer, who was 70 years old, succumbed at the Spanish town Hospital.

A distraught D'Angel whose real name is Michelle Downer told The Gleaner that her father was loving and supportive.

"This is really hard for me because I wasn’t expecting this, he was never sick and to hear that he’s gone now, just like that, it’s really hard."

The St Catherine police are investigating the incident.
