Two senior irrigation commission executives dismissed

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Irrigation Commission Dr  Mark Richards is among two senior executives of the agency who have been dismissed.

The Company Secretary who is also the director of Corporate and Legal Service, Paola Arscott is the other.

Chairman of the Board of the National Irrigation Commission, Senator Aubyn Hill, confirmed the dismissals but declined to provide specifics.

However, Hill said the board made a decision in the best interest of the agency.

He said senior employee, Oliver Nembhard, has been appointed interim CEO.

Hill said the board of the Commission is committed to running a professional agency.

Richards was appointed CEO in 2014, while Arscott had been in her position since 2012.
