$1.4 million worth of ganja seized in St Ann

The police have seized approximately 300 pounds of ganja in Alexandria, St Ann.
They say a team was conducting vehicle check point operations along the Alexandria main road yesterday morning when a Toyota Corolla motorcar was stopped, searched and the drug found.
According to the police, the drug has an estimated street value of approximately $1.4 million.
The police say 33-year-old mechanic, Kerol Williams and 21-year-old Shanieka Johnson, both of Hamony Hall, St Elizabeth addresses, were arrested and charged in connection with the seizure.
They will appear in the St Ann Parish Court next week.
