TAJ reports $19.6 billion in collections for August
Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is reporting that it has seen an increase in revenue collection for the month of August.
The TAJ says preliminary figures show that it collected $19.6 billion, which is 2.3 per cent over the target of $19.2 billion.
The agency notes that the positive performance continues the trend which was set in the first-quarter of this financial year.
It notes that collections for the period April to June, when averaged, stood at 108.5 per cent of the $61.9 billion target.
The TAJ says July collections continued the upward movement as $19.3 billion of the $191.1 billion target was met.
The authority says as a result, the year to date net collections now stand at 106 point 4 billion dollars of the $100.2 billion projected for the period.
It says this represents an increase of 6.3 per cent.
