The town of Falmouth in Trelawny is expected to come alive today as the world's largest cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, is set to dock at the Falmouth Pier.
Harmony of the Seas, which is owned by Royal Caribbean Cruise Limited, has a maximum capacity of 6,700 guests and 2,300 crew members.
Mayor of Falmouth, Garth Wilkinson, says another ship is expected to be in harbour when the largest cruise ship arrives.
He says the number of persons on both ships will outnumber the 11,000 residents currently living in Falmouth.
The number of cruise tourists expected today are expected to increase business for craft vendors and other businesses in Falmouth.
It is also expected to boost Jamaica's cruise arrivals, which contributed to a 5.4 per cent increase in the tourism sector when compared to the same period last year.
