Gunman shoots, injures man near Parliament building
Police investigators are now at a scene close to the Houses of Parliament where one man was shot and injured just after 8 o'clock this morning.
It is reported that the victim was standing near the corner of Beeston and Duke streets in downtown Kingston when a gunman approached and opened fire hitting him before escaping on foot.
The injured man has been taken to hospital.
This came hours after several shots were fired in the near-by Kingston Gardens late last night into this morning.
A joint police/military operation this morning led to the arrest of several persons.
Some parliamentarians are scheduled to meet at Gordon House 10 o'clock this morning for a sitting of the Public Administration & Appropriations Committee.
