St Thomas mother accused of beating child with machete for court today

The St Thomas mother who was seen in a video beating her daughter is to appear in court today.

Forty-four-year-old Doreen Dyer of Bath district in the parish is charged with cruelty to a child.

Dyer was charged last week Tuesday by the police and was subsequently offered bail.

​The video shows the partially nude mother beating the girl violently with a machete while cursing expletives.

The police said their investigation revealed that the incident happened last year.
