Arlene McBean elected first female police federation chairperson
Corporal Arlene McBean has been elected the first ever female chairperson of the Jamaica Police Federation.
McBean was elected at the just concluded 75th annual Joint Central Conference at Moon Palace Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
McBean is attached to the motorised patrol division of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
Inspector Sheldon Gordon was elected General Secretary.

The Jamaica Police Federation represents approximately 14,000 members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force at the rank of sub-officers and constables.
McBean spearheaded the 'hair style project' which allowed police women to wear small fashionable knobs and braids.
McBean read for her law degree at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean and is an ardent member of the Pentecostal faith.
