Less than 8% voter turnout at Homestead by-election

The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) is reporting a 7.26 per cent voter turnout up to 11a.m. for the by-election now underway in the Homestead Division in St. Catherine South Central.
The EOJ says all polling stations opened on time at 7 o' clock this morning.
The poll is scheduled to close at 5 p.m.
The Jamaica Labour Party's Mark McLean and the People's National Party's Janette Grayson are contesting the by-election.
There are 9,471 registered voters in the division.
Voting is taking place in 33 polling stations across five voting locations.
