Dele Alli celebrate with teammates after scoring England's second goal

England are through to the semi-final of the World Cup for the first time in nearly three decades after they defeated Sweden 2-0 in Russia today.

The last time England made the semi-final of the World Cup was the 1990 tournament, held in Italy.

Harry Maguire broke the deadlock against Sweden when he scored in the 30th minute.

Twenty-two-year-old Dele Alli double England's lead when he headed home a cross in the 58th minute.

England will face the winner of today's second game between Croatia and host country Russia.
