Two guns seized in Westmoreland, two in custody

Two illegal firearms and several items used in the lottery scam were seized by the police in Westmoreland yesterday.

The police say a man and a woman who were at the house where the items were found have been taken into custody.

There names have not been released as the police say they will be questioned in the presence of their attorneys.

The Savanna-la-mar Police report that the house, which is located in the community known as Chinester, was searched during an early morning operation.

The police say during the search one M16 rifle with ten rounds of ammunition and a pistol containing two rounds of ammunition were found.

In addition, the police say a Toyota motorcar was seized along with electronic devices they suspect were being used in the lottery scam.
