Road deaths near 200
Close to 200 persons have died on the nation's roadways since the start of the year.
The Road Safety Unit in the Ministry of Transport says 192 persons have died in 168 fatal crashes since January 1.
Despite this, it says road deaths are down six per cent when compared with the corresponding period last year while fatal crashes are down eleven per cent.
According to the latest figures released by the Road Safety Unit, 44 pedestrians, 44 motorcyclists, 36 private motor vehicle drivers and 31 private motor vehicle passengers are among the 192 road fatalities this year.
The figures also revealed that there were four multiple fatal crashes that resulted in 16 deaths.
