NWA repairing Christian Pen main road in Portmore, St Catherine
The National Works Agency (NWA) has commenced the second phase of works along the Christian Pen main road in Portmore, St Catherine.
The works include the cleaning of drains, construction on a new base and the laying of asphaltic concrete.
The NWA says the new phase of works, which should be completed in a month, complements activities undertaken earlier this year along the corridor.
Earlier this year, the agency completed works valued at just under 10 million dollars.
Those works included significant drainage and base improvements.
Under the new phase of works, some 2,700 square metres of road will be rehabilitated at a cost of just under eight million dollars.
The work will be concentrated along the section of road near the Christian Pen health centre.
Persons are being advised to expect minor delays in traversing the road over the next two weeks as the works are slated to be intensified.
