Talkback Tuesday

Published:Tuesday | October 30, 2018 | 12:00 AM

Former deputy commissioner of police Mark Shields says it is believed that one in every five Jamaica Constabulary Force cop is corrupt.

In yesterday's #TalkbackTuesday, we asked for your views.

Here are a few of the comments:

- I believe him. The evidence on a daily basis is overwhelming. @Pythoria777

- If he knows that members of the force are corrupt, he ought to produce the evidence. He has, by doing this, tarred all. This seems to me to be a case of 'all cretans are liars'. If I believe the source; I must be ambivalent about the statement. @raymics

- I am not sure which is worse: that one in five is RIDICULOUSLY high, or that I think one in five is a RIDICULOUS underestimation. @amadeusfletch

- Getting worse. @sabsdecoded

- Let me decipher this, Mr Shields, in the best way possible. You're telling me that being a retiree from the JCF officer corps, you are here to make public comments regarding the integrity of the JCF men and women, and while you were there, "yuh see n blind, hear and deaf"? @connyDEM
