St Andrew man killed in motor vehicle crash

A St Andrew man died this morning in a motor vehicle crash along the P J Patterson Highway in St Catherine pushing the number of road fatalities this month close to 40.

He has been identified as 31-year-old Khadero Tyrell, of Cherry Gardens, in Upper St Andrew.

His death pushes the number of persons killed on the nation’s roadways since the start of November to 35, according to statistics compiled by the Road Safety Unit in the Transport Ministry.

A total of 327 persons have died in motor vehicle crashes since the start of the year, an increase of twelve per cent when compared with the corresponding period last year.

The Ferry Police report that Tyrell was driving his Toyota LandCruiser sports utility vehicle towards Kingston when he lost control.

According to the police, the vehicle crashed into a perimeter fence before overturning.
