IDT rules in favour of ousted Petrojam human resource manager

Petrojam, the scandal-scarred state-owned oil refinery, has been ordered by the Industrial Disputes Tribunal (IDT) to pay former human resource manager Roselee Scott-Heron the equivalent of 12 months salary.
According to reports, at the time she was immediately terminated by then Petrojam general manager Floyd Grindley two days before Christmas Day 2016, Scott-Heron was being paid close to $6.5 million per annum in basic salary plus allowances that pushed her total package to $9.8 million.
The IDT, in its decision handed down on Monday, said the award was “compensation for her unjustifiable dismissal.”
Further, the IDT ordered that termination payments made to Scott-Heron at the time of her dismissal “should not be deducted from this payment.”
The award was made in the challenge brought by Scott-Heron against her termination.
Following her dismissal, Scott-Heron was replaced by Yolande Ramharrack, who resigned from the position last November amid controversy.
