The law firm Henlin Gibson Henlin will mark its 10th anniversary on March 8 and 9, with a conference dubbed: ‘Be Inspired! Celebrating Trailblazing Women in Law’ in observance of International Women’s Day, at the University of the West Indies Regional Headquarters.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness will deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony on Friday March 8, followed by presentations from a raft of impressive international and local legal luminaries.

Inspiring women

“The purpose of the conference is to inspire women to be their best selves. It is to create opportunities for men and women to engage in discussion on issues affecting women concerning career, leadership and their overall well-being and development,” says Gibson Henlin.

And to achieve that goal, some confirmed presenters from the international stage include: Norman Clark and Lisa Walker Johnson of the law firm Walker Clarke, in Fort Myers, Florida, Ira Schwartz of the firm Parker, Schwartz PLLC in Phoenix, Arizona; Frank Walwyn from WeirFoulds – Toronto, Canada and Judge Janet Nosworthy, a judge of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

The slate of eminent local attorneys and jurists include: Chief Justice Bryan Sykes, Dennis Morrison, president of the Court of Appeal, Paula Llewellyn, director of public prosecutions, Jacqueline Samuels Brown QC, Nicole Foga, Donnovan Walker, Tracy Robinson, Camille Marr Facey, Rochelle Cameron, Sandra Minott-Phillips QC, Denise Kitson and more.

Highlight of the weekend will be a gala at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston of Friday March 8. Full details of ongoing registration are available by emailing: womeninlaw@henlin.pro or at the website: websitewomeninlawja.com.
