Uchence Wilson Gang Trial | Witness testifies about becoming homeless, being beaten
A former member of the Uchence gang this morning told the court that he decided to testify against his alleged former gang members because they caused him to become homeless and, on one occasion, beat him.
"They rob a lot of people, and they are one of the reasons my aunty put me out and forsake me, and I didn't have anywhere to live," the witness said.
He was testifying via video link at the trial of reputed gang leader Uchence Wilson and his 23 co-accused in the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston.
He said that Wilson, Michael 'Judge' Lamont, Devin Taylor and Keron 'Tall Man' Walter beat him after he stole phone cards, cigarettes and coins from a room belonging to co-accused Tashina Baker at their St Andrew residence.
"Them beat me and say a rate them rate me why them beat me," the witness said.
The accused are on trial for alleged crimes committed between 2015 and 2017.
They are charged with breaches of the anti-gang legislation.
