MAJ salutes Dorraine Samuels
The Media Association Jamaica (MAJ) Limited has hailed late broadcaster Dorraine Samuels as a “highly respected media professional who served the industry well”.
Samuels, a veteran broadcaster who served the media industry for 40 years, passed away on Tuesday.
In a media release, the MAJ reflected on Samuels’ “bubbly radio personality on the ‘Good Morning Jamaica’ show with co-host Allan Magnus and later on in her career on ‘Dorraine’s Coffee Break’ which endeared her to Jamaicans of all ages”. Both shows were hosted on RJR 94 FM.
“Dorraine’s name was also synonymous with ‘prime time’ as she held the position of Prime Time News anchor for over a decade on Television Jamaica,” the release further pointed out.
The MAJ said she would be fondly remembered in the media fraternity and expressed condolences to her immediate family and the staff at the RJRGLEANER Communications Group.
