Gun, ammunition seized in St James

The security forces yesterday found an illegal sub-machine gun with a magazine containing 56 live rounds during a raid at Village Top, Rose Heights, St James.
The discovery occurred at about 5:00 a.m when a joint military and police team were conducting a raid on a premises in the area.
No one was detained in connection with the findings.
The weapon, magazine and ammunition were taken to the Freeport Police Station for processing.
The security forces continue to urge persons to call the confidential JDF tip hotline at (876) 837-8888 and provide assistance in ridding criminals from their communities.
