Man surrenders in relation to deadly St James hit and run
The police are reporting that a man has turned himself in to investigators in relation to Tuesday’s hit and run which claimed the life of two-year-old Sasha-Gay Dennis and the injury of her 10-year-old sister Hanesea Palmer.
Their mother Diana Whitely told The Gleaner that she and her four children were on their way back from the beach when a motorist stopped to allow them to cross Howard Cooke Boulevard close to a popular KFC outlet.
While they were crossing, a white 2009 Nissan Note motor car sped around the car that had stopped and mowed down Sasha-Gay and her sister.
In fleeing the scene, the car dragged the little girl’s body several metres along the road.
A police manhunt was then launched to locate the driver.
