Water disruptions in Hope Pastures, sections of St Thomas
The National Water Commission (NWC) says mechanical problems and repair works are affecting the water supply to Hope Pastures in St Andrew and several communities in St Thomas.
The water utility says the supply to sections of Hope Pastures has been suspended to facilitate emergency repair work on the pipeline network in the area.
As a result, the elevated sections mainly Gibson Drive, Widcombe Drive, Hope Boulevard and roads leading off will have low water pressure or no water.
It is estimating that the repairs will be completed by 6:00 p.m. today.
And it says a mechanical problem has disrupted operations at the Albion Estate water supply facility in St Thomas.
As a result, the Albion Housing Estate, Sun Valley, Grants Pen and Eleven Mile will have no water.
The NWC says an initial assessment of the damage is being carried out and customers will be advised of the expected restoration time for operations at the plant.
The commission says every effort will be made to restore the regular water supply in the shortest possible time.
