American with gun, ammunition arrested after attempting to board plane in Kingston
A 26-year-old American man is now in jail after he was arrested at Kingston's Norman Manley International Airport attempting to board a flight allegedly with a firearm and ammunition in his luggage .
The police say Matthew Campbell, a nursing assistant of Phoenix, Arizona, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition and attempting to carry a firearm and ammunition on a plane.
The police say Campbell was about to board a Delta flight to Atlanta about 11:30 a.m, when his luggage was searched and a .38 revolver and 12 rounds of ammunition discovered.
He is scheduled to appear before the Half Way Tree Parish Court on Tuesday, June 11.
