A 40-year-old man charged with the murder of his 62-year-old sister is to go on trial in the St Catherine Circuit Court on April 4.

The date was set after Jason-Ray Green appeared before the parish court today.

The parish court judge ruled that a prima facie case was made out against Green and ordered that the matter be transferred to the circuit court.

Green is being represented by attorney-at-law Steven Jackson.

Allegations are that about 10:30 p.m. on July 19, 2023, Green, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2009, used a blunt object to bludgeon his sister to death at her home in White Water Meadows in the parish.

The woman's body was discovered by a relative the following morning.

The police were called, and following an investigation, Green was arrested and subsequently charged with murder.
