Firearm seized in Portland, two arrested

The Portland police seized a Beretta pistol and arrested two men in the Rio Grande Valley area of the parish on Tuesday.
The seizure and arrests were made during a police raid in the farming district of Rivers View.
The police say two magazines along with 10 rounds of ammunition were also recovered.
It is the first firearm seizure in Portland since the start of the year.
Last year the Portland police recovered nine firearms along with 82 rounds of assorted ammunition.
