Security guard charged for beating 14-y-o boy at bus stop

His court date is being arranged.

A 42-year-old security guard has been charged for assaulting a 14-year-old boy while the two were at a bus stop in Pembroke Hall, St Andrew.

The police say the teen was dragged along the roadway by the man.

Dwayne Lemond has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and malicious destruction of property.

His court date is being arranged.

The incident happened on the morning of January 25.

It is reported that about 10:45 a.m., a boy was standing at a bus stop when he was approached by Lemond, who collared him and started hitting him in the face, according to the police.

The teen was allegedly then dragged along the roadway causing bruises to his body and damage to his school uniform.

The police were summoned and Lemond was arrested and charged.

The boy was treated for his injuries at hospital.

Investigations continue.
