Reid will face off with Ian Myles, who recently left the PNP for the Jamaica Labour Party, in the local government elections set for February 26.

Oliver Reid, the People's National Party (PNP) councillor-candidate who up to late yesterday was hospitalised for dehydration, says he is now "fully fit" and ready to intensify his campaign for a seat in the Westmoreland Municipal Corporation.

He said Thursday following his nomination in the Little London Division that concerns about his were exaggerated.

“My head was feeling a little dizzy and I went to the doctor and the doctor advised me to take some rest,” Reid told The Gleaner

"What I did was [to] take some time off. It's over now- the dehydration period is over now. I am fully fit, rehydrated and ready to go,” he stated.

Reid will face off with Ian Myles, who recently left the PNP for the Jamaica Labour Party, in the local government elections set for February 26.

He was Myles' campaign manager in the last local polls in 2016.

Myles polled 1,127 votes to beat Dixeth Palmer of the JLP who got 945 votes, from the 2,092 votes cast.

Some 7,287 persons were registered to vote.
