Bail extended for bus driver charged with indecent assault of call centre worker
Bail was further extended on Tuesday in the St Catherine Parish Court for a bus driver contracted to transport workers at a call centre who is accused of forcible kissing a female employee after taking her to her destination.
Winston Burrell, of Central Village in the parish, who is charged with indecent assault, was ordered by Senior Parish Court judge Desiree Alleyne to return to court on May 21.
Burrell's attorney, Germaine Smith, told the judge that his client denies the allegations.
It is being alleged that about 1:30 a.m. on January 30, the complainant was transported to her destination by the accused.
As she was about to exit the bus, the driver allegedly held onto the woman and thrust his tongue down her throat against her will, the court was told.
The complainant reportedly related her alleged ordeal to the HR department at the call centre where she works.
The company allegedly failed to act on her complaint and the worker subsequently made a report to the police.
An investigation was launched and Burrell was arrested and charged.
