British man arrested at airport after ganja found in luggage
A British man was arrested at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James on Wednesday after a quantity of ganja was allegedly found in his luggage.
He was subsequently held for reasonable suspicion of breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
The police report that about 3:50 p.m., the man was accosted by Narcotics operatives while in the process of boarding a flight to Manchester, England.
After preliminary investigations, his luggage was searched and 31 pounds of ganja were found in his possession, according to the police.
The estimated street value of the illicit drug is over $12 million.
His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
