'Shouka' charged for double murder in Gregory Park, Portmore
A man was on Thursday charged by the police for a November 2023 shooting in Gregory Park, Portmore, St Catherine that left two dead and two injured.
Forty-three-year-old Maitland Reckford, otherwise called 'Shouka', 'Penny' and 'Kit', of Gregory Park, is charged with murder, wounding with intent, shooting with intent, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
His court date is being finalised.
The police report that the November 11, 2023, shooting at a pub resulted in the deaths of Cedric Crooks, otherwise called 'Gungo', of Gregory Park, and Richard Manley, otherwise called 'Bada Bada', of Christian Meadows, both in Portmore.
Reckford was arrested at his residence on Tuesday, February 6 by detectives from the Major Investigation Division.
He was subsequently pointed out during an identification parade and subsequently charged on Thursday, February 15, in the presence of his attorney.
