Two men charged for possession of illegal firearm

Two Trelawny men have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition following an incident in Red Hills Pond, Wakefield in the parish on Tuesday.

Charged are 33-year-old Hussani Morgan, otherwise called 'Sani', and 28-year-old construction worker, Rushane Jackson, both from Red Hills Pond.

Reports from the Falmouth police are that about 5:45 a.m., lawmen were on an operation in the community when an area was searched. During the search, officers seized a black Sig SP 2009 pistol with a magazine containing five 9mm rounds of ammunition.

Morgan and Jackson were arrested and subsequently charged during a question-and-answer session.

Their court date is being finalised.
