#JAVOTES2024 | Large voter turnout in St Thomas Western

Between 60 and 65 per cent of eligible electors in St Thomas Western turned out to vote in today's local government election.
That's according to Philbert Miller, the returning officer for the constituency.
The disclosure came after the 5 p.m. close of voting.
Six divisions - Trinityville, Seaforth, Yallahs, Cedar Valley, White Horses and Llandewey - are in St Thomas Western and possible control of the St Thomas Municipal Corporation is up for grabs.
There are four other divisions in St Thomas Eastern.
Jamaica Labour Party and People's National Party supporters gathered outside Yallahs Primary School with each side claiming victory for their respective candidates.
The counting of ballots cast in St Thomas Western is set to begin inside the schools shortly.
The counting of ballots for St Thomas Eastern is set to take place at the National Heritage Trust building in Morant Bay.
