Man charged for murder of 9-y-o Clarendon boy
A 25-year-old May Pen, Clarendon man has been charged for the shooting death of nine-year-old Shamar Walker, who was killed on January 26.
Joel Williams is also charged with wounding with intent in relation to a female shopkeeper who was also shot in the same incident.
Williams is to appear in the Clarendon Parish Court on March 28.
Police had reported that about 7:45 p.m. on the day in question, a group of people were at a shop when a man entered and was there for about 30 minutes before opening gunfire hitting the young boy and the woman.
Both were rushed to hospital where little Shamar, who was shot in the chest, was pronounced dead, and the woman admitted in serious condition.
Sleuths theorised that the woman was the target of the attack, as she had reported a robbery at her shop just days before.
