The 11-days-old infant who was abducted from the compound of the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) by a woman has been found.

The child was recovered in Dunkirk, East Kingston, according to Senior Superintendent Michael Phipps.

He was unable to share further details at this time.

Earlier today, the police reported that the baby was stolen from her mother, 26-year Christiana Blake, about 10 a.m., at the hospital where she had gone to seek medical treatment.

Blake, who uses a wheelchair, was accompanied to the hospital by her partner, Kevin Robe.

On completion of her treatment, Robe left the baby in Blake's care to go to purchase food.

Blake was then approached by a woman who offered to assist her with the baby.

The woman had previously befriended the couple.

An alarm was raised after she did not return with the child.
