Man accused of shooting at police in St Catherine remanded
A St Catherine man accused of shooting at the police was today remanded in the parish court.
Thirty-two-year-old Oshane Gayle is charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and two counts of assault at common law.
The case was transferred to the Gun Court for mention on April 9.
Allegations are that about 2:35 a.m. on March 4, a police party went to St John's Road in Spanish Town to respond to an incident and when the team arrived the cops were challenged by a group of armed men.
Gayle was shot and injured in the exchange.
The police said a Sarsilmaz nine-millimetre pistol was seized.
An investigation was conducted and Gayle was arrested and subsequently charged.
