TAJ moves to address AC issues at Port Antonio Tax Office
Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising that the Port Antonio Tax Office in Portland is closed for business today as it moves to install air conditioner units.
Yesterday, disgruntled workers staged a sickout to protest working conditions, particularly the absence of air conditioning.
They said that the heat inside the building is unbearable.
Operations at the tax office were halted due to the action of the workers.
Today, the TAJ said it is addressing the issues.
It has advised persons can visit the Buff Bay or Part Maria tax offices to conduct their usual transactions.
